The adventure begins in Anchorage with a scenic flight across Cook Inlet, named after explorer Captain James Cook. Clients should have their camera ready for incredible photographic opportunities when flying southwest. The scenery will include sprawling glaciers, steaming volcanoes, snow-capped mountain peaks and miles of black sand beaches. The journey will take them over Lake Clark, Katmai National Parks and the Alaska Peninsula Wildlife Refuge before landing at Nelson Lagoon where they will be met by their guide. The guide will get clients and their luggage loaded into all-terrain vehicles for an adventurous 40-mile trip west to the remote Steelhead Creek Base Camp. The vehicles travel along the beaches of the scenic Bering Sea during this hour-long trip. This unspoiled wilderness offers great opportunities for beach-combing and wildlife viewing while on route.
The camp is located at the mouth of the Steelhead Creek and the Bering Sea. Newly refurbished in 2018, the facility offers excellent accommodations, a very nice shower house (with endless hot water), a kitchen/dining tent, guest tents and of course a very comfortable outhouse.
This is remote Alaska, so be ready for anything… especially brown bears fishing along the river near camp! Wildlife that that can be seen while on this incredible journey may include salmon, wolves, fox, brown bear, moose, caribou and other critters that call the area home. Search the shoreline for the occasional group of seals and walrus along with many other wild species. The birds are too numerous to name them all so bring your binoculars and be on the look-out. The sheer abundance of wildlife is absolutely astounding, from the smallest ground squirrel to enormous Alaska brown bear, colorful spawning salmon to breaching whales, huge Alaska moose, Barren-ground caribou, Arctic wolves, red fox and more. Explore the black sand beaches of the peninsula coastline and search for artifacts, antique glass fishing floats, fossils and whale bones. In addition to all this, the location offers an incredible opportunity to fish for abundant salmon, steelhead, and Dolly Varden trout.
A big hearty breakfast will be provided every morning, packed lunches and snacks during the day and a delicious home- cooked hot meal every night. On day one, clients will hit the creeks for a full day of guided fishing. On day two, a full day of fossil finding and wildlife adventure exploring. The time spent in this unspoiled location will be a truly special part of their trip with abundant wildlife and breath-taking vistas. On day three, there will be a guided flight seeing tour. The flight will start in Nelson Lagoon and fly a large circle highlighting some of the many sights in the area, one of the main attractions is a walrus haul-out. In Alaska, the Pacific walrus’ range includes the Chukchi and Bering Seas. Each summer several thousand adult male or Bull Walrus arrive in our area. After spending the entire summer with us, these huge (2,000 to 4,000 pound) bull walrus migrate northward in October to join the rest of the walrus herd in the St. Lawrence Island region for the winter months and breeding season which occurs in January and February. Once the flight trip is concluded your guide will head back to Steelhead Creek.
Clients will enjoy beach-combing along the Bering Sea coastline while enjoying wildflowers, birds and wildlife, keeping warm by driftwood campfires on the beach. On the Alaska Peninsula the Brown Bear is king! It has one of the highest population densities of Alaska Brown Bear in the world. There are hundreds of bears in our area and casual sightings of brown bear along our fishing streams are everyday occurrences. The brown bear population in our area is well-nourished by the millions of Pacific salmon that return each year. Quite often we sight brown bear right from camp. Nearly every day clients can photograph them feeding on fish in the area. Brown bear are relentless beachcombers and can often be seen wandering along the black sand beaches.
This magical place is like nowhere else on the planet, the Alaska Peninsula is truly the untamed wild! Nowhere else in Alaska will you find wildlife roaming as they did a century ago. This is not a canned tourist attraction; our trips are guided by the most experienced people in the remote Alaska Southwest region.

Accommodations: Our ocean camp is an insulated, heated, solid platform constructed, weather port tent structure. Our guests sleep in comfortable beds, with a full complement of linens, comforters, blankets and pillows. A small, quiet generator along with solar panels provides electricity. The beach camp has a shower facility with on demand hot and cold running water as well as what might be the nicest outhouses in the state. These camps are very well designed with your warmth and comfort in mind.
Dining here is casual, meals are served family style. We work very hard to provide a wide variety of meals throughout the week. A typical breakfast may include: eggs to order, hash browns, ham/ bacon/ sausage, fruit, pancakes and oatmeal. Our lunch items are basic and generally consist of soup and sandwiches.
Items on our dinner menu may include but not limited to; prime rib, salmon, steaks, halibut and chicken. All meals served are hearty and delicious. We always strive to accommodate all dietary needs.

| Depart Anchorage in the A.M. by plane heading 640 miles SW to the village of Nelson Lagoon. Guide will meet aircraft and clients at air field and then head by ATV 30 miles on the beach to the Steelhead creek camp. Get settled in at camp and relax before dinner after a long day of travel. |
| Day 2 – Coastal Adventure |
| Get ready for an exciting full day of guided fishing on several different creeks that feed into the Bering Sea. Take in the remoteness of the Bristol bay shoreline. Spend the day searching for wildlife and getting some amazing pictures both via ATVs and walking along the beach and exploring the creeks |
| Day 3 – Flightseeing and beach exploring |
| Depart the Steelhead creek camp after breakfast and head back to town for a flight seeing tour of the area’s sites highlighted by a walrus haul out. After the flight head back to camp for some fossil finding, wildlife viewing and exploration. |
| Day 4 – Steelhead Creek Camp |
| Start the day by loading up in the ATV and let the exploration continue as you drive south towards a large seal haul out. This day is great for wildlife and beach combing on the shores of the Bering Sea. |

| After Breakfast pack up for your ATV ride back to Nelson Lagoon to meet the aircraft to return to Anchorage. |
